Yes, we are a busy local practice, to ensure you don’t miss out on treatment we advise you book ahead.

At the start of your first consultation, a history will be taken of your current symptoms, past injury history and review of any images you have had. This will be followed by a physical assessment. The physical assessment with involve palpation (touch), movement and observation of the painful/injured area to help your Physiotherapist diagnose the injury/condition. At the end of the physical assessment, your Physiotherapist with discuss with you your diagnosis and what treatment options are available. They will discuss whether you should be referred on for further scans or to see a specialist. If treatment is deemed appropriate by your treating Physiotherapist, and you consent to having treatment, treatment will commence. At the end of the session, you will be given exercises to complete at home and your Physiotherapist will discuss with you if you need to return along with how many sessions you will require.

Each session (initial and subsequent) lasts 30 minutes. We ask that you arrive 10 minutes early for your initial appointment to ensure you have time to fill out appropriate paperwork. We run well to time so we ask that you arrive for all appointments a few minutes early in order to get the most out of your allocated time. We run back to back appointments and if you are running more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. We don’t want you to miss out on valuable treatment time and we don’t want to offend when asking for full fee for your appointment time.

Assessment and treatment requires viewing the movement and postures of the area of pain along with some adjoining areas so undressing of outer garments is often required. We recommend you wear comfortable clothing such as a shirt, shorts and undergarments (underwear or swimmers) which you will be comfortable being assessed and treated in.
